all girls and women deserve dignity during their periods.

Addressing period poverty through locally-made sustainable menstrual supplies and community-informed education.

One of the most vulnerable times in a woman’s life is when she begins to menstruate.

Girls often drop out of school when they start menstruating. Lack of access to hygiene supplies and education strip girls and women of dignity and are linked to vulnerabilities to human trafficking, child marriage, teen pregnancy, and lifelong poverty. Wunders is working to change this reality.

our holistic solution

Wunders exists to equip girls and women with locally made sustainable menstrual supplies and community-informed education so that they can thrive.

sustainable solutions

Our team develops reusable menstrual supplies that are made locally, creating a sustainable livelihood opportunity for women. We distribute these kits to school girls and women in Kenya and surrounding countries. We have plans to launch Wunders in new locations soon. We modify fabrics and designs to match the cultural sensitivities and laundry realities of each geographic location.

curriculum & training

Our core curriculum includes vital information about menstrual health and safety. Our curriculum emphasizes that we are each valued and all wonderfully created in the image of God. It covers vital menstrual health education, anti-human trafficking safety information, and how to care for their Wunders kit. Each training is customized for the local context. This, combined with reusable menstrual supplies, helps girls stay in school and lower the risk of girls and women being trafficked.

community informed

Wunders menstrual supplies are made in community-based sewing centers and distributed by local leaders who already work to create equity and fight trafficking. Wunders works within our partner networks to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities, educate and equip students, and prevent the vulnerabilities associated with human trafficking.
